THE JOURNAL / 001
A wardrobe in layers.
Good layering starts with a little space: between fabrics, between proportions, and between an outfit and the way you move through your day.
01 / Start light
Choose a shirt or a fine knit as a base. A simple neckline gives you freedom to add another layer without competing details. Let a cuff or hem show when it brings the proportions into balance.
02 / Add texture
Pair a smooth shirt with a softer knit, or bring a structured jacket over a relaxed shape. Similar colours allow those differences in texture to stand out.
03 / Consider the silhouette
A longer outer layer can bring an outfit together. If the top half feels generous, try a straighter trouser; if you prefer volume below, keep the upper layers simple.
04 / Care between wears
Follow the garment care label. Air a piece when appropriate, fold knitwear for storage, and use a suitable hanger for structured outerwear. Ask a specialist when you are unsure about a fabric.
